How to Store Desi Ghee Properly
Desi ghee is straightforward to store, but moisture and dirty utensils can shorten its useful life. A few basic habits make a meaningful difference.
Keep water out
Use a completely clean and dry spoon every time. Even a small amount of moisture can affect texture and freshness.
Close the jar properly
Keep the lid tightly closed between uses so the ghee does not absorb kitchen smells or dust.
Choose a cool place
A cool cupboard away from direct sunlight and the stove is usually suitable. Follow the storage guidance printed on the product label.
Watch for normal texture changes
Ghee can become grainy, firm or liquid as temperature changes. This alone does not necessarily indicate a quality problem.
